JLF is a DJ on a mission to bring the fun and party vibe back into hard house and make it once again accessible to the masses.
At a time where it is increasingly difficult to stand out, he’s carved his own niche with high energy sets packed full of mashups, edits and reworks of his own creation. These combine to provide a unique experience every time he plays – a breath of fresh air in the sometimes ‘a bit too serious’ hard house scene!
“I like to bring something new and unique to every brand I play for, pushing myself technically and creatively to offer something different to the dancefloor every single time.”
JLF
Spending countless days in the studio before each gig creating unique tracks, remixes and edits that are all tailored to the event and its theme, his over-the-top mashups are a combination of classic tracks, acapellas and unreleased material – tongue in cheek bootlegs that whip the crowd into a frenzy and leave them begging for more… With over 300 of these already in his arsenal you won’t hear a set like it anywhere else!
A resident at the well respected Meltdarn since March 2022, Josh plays across the full spectrum of hard house – from disco inspired grooves to high octane, hoover driven NRG and everything (and anything) in-between and plenty that isn’t!!
“There is no one doing what he is doing right now, no one!”
Jon Hemming
The last few years have seen his star begin to rise, winning DJ competitions and now playing sets for the likes of Insomniacz, Rejuvenation, Unity in the Sun (Kavos), Flaunt, Shed, Meltdarn, MadHouse, Dropp Junkiez, Fixate, Happy Vibes, Anarchy and rounded it all off with an acclaimed performance at The Tidyland Weekender. He counts heavyweights like Amber D, Jon Hemming and General Bounce amongst his most dedicated fans and is slowly amassing the kind of adulation usually reserved for established legacy artists – a recognition of his unique approach to DJing and performance.
He’s had almost 50 tracks released since 2021 with another 10 slated for this year, with his music showing up on labels including Tidy Trax, Vicious Circle, Cheeky Tracks, Boxt and Faculty One. His productions have support from industry titans Hannah Laing, Viviana Casanova, Yomanda, The Tidy Boys, Andy Farley, Amber D, Drax Nelson, Digital Mafia, General Bounce and Jon Hemming and have featured on albums including Keep It Tidy 7, The Tidy Boys Annual, Cheeky Tracks Secret Weapons and Bouncy 2, plus a multitude of respected compilations.
“I am in awe of him…”
Amber D
This year Josh is looking to focus on making the transition to headlining and supporting established headliners at smaller events, whilst working through his bucket list of major brands to represent and target labels to release his music on. He has multiple bookings already announced for this year, and many more to be announced. He is excited to be working on a 'JLF Live' show where he will be fusing DJing and production into one unique experience for clubbers – more details on this coming soon.
