JLF — hard house DJ
Privacy

Privacy policy

This site is a DJ portfolio. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no analytics. This page also covers the private tools JLF runs against his own social accounts, because Google requires a published policy for any app that touches YouTube data.

01

Who this is

JLF is the working name of Josh Foster, a DJ and producer based in the United Kingdom. He is the data controller for anything described here.

What the website collects

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type. The site has no forms, no accounts, no comments and no newsletter. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts.

Three third parties are involved in serving the pages, and each sees your IP address as a normal part of delivering content:

  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a CDN and keeps standard security and traffic logs.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com.
  • SoundCloud supplies the embedded player on the music page, and sets its own cookies once that player loads.

Links out to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Beatport, Skiddle and similar are ordinary links. Their privacy policies apply once you follow one.

03

Email

Booking and press enquiries arrive by email. Those messages sit in a Gmail account and are used to reply to you and to arrange the booking. They are not added to a mailing list, and they are not shared with anyone else.

04

The JLF automation tools

Separately from this website, JLF runs a small set of private scripts that connect to his own social accounts to publish posts and read their statistics. These tools have exactly one user — Josh Foster, the owner of the accounts. They are not offered to the public and there is no sign-up.

Where those tools connect to Google or YouTube, they use the YouTube Data API Services and the YouTube Analytics API, under Google's OAuth. What that means in practice:

  • They access only the JLF channel, authorised by its owner.
  • They read channel and video statistics, and upload videos to that same channel.
  • The access and refresh tokens are stored on a single private computer, not in any cloud service and not in this website.
  • No Google user data is transferred to anyone, sold, used for advertising, used to build profiles, or used to train any AI or machine learning model.
  • No human other than Josh Foster reads the data, except where required by law.

JLF's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The same tools connect to Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and to SoundCloud in the same way, for the same accounts, on the same terms.

05

Keeping and deleting data

Email is kept while it is useful for the booking it relates to, and then deleted. Statistics pulled from social accounts are stored locally and hold no data about identifiable individuals beyond aggregate audience figures that the platforms publish to any account holder.

Google access can be withdrawn at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately stops the tools from reaching the channel.

06

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to it being processed. Email djjlfbookings@gmail.com and it will be handled within one month.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

07

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date below. There is no mailing list to notify.
